SOCIAL NETWORK CONTENT (POST) SHARING RULES
These rules have been established to maintain the maritime industry focus, ensure legal compliance, and promote safe and ethical communication during the use of the social network application on Micromarin Yazılım A.Ş. (“Micromarin” or “Our Company”) websites and/or mobile application (collectively referred to as the “Platform”). Posts are limited exclusively to the maritime industry and directly related topics.
A- Fundamental Principles
1- Thematic Relevance is Mandatory
Posts must be limited to areas directly related to the maritime industry, such as maritime transportation, ship management, port operations, maritime safety, environment (MARPOL), security (within the context of SOLAS/ISPS), maritime technologies/digitalization, shipbuilding/maintenance-repair, classification/inspection, marine insurance/logistics, sectoral legislation/news, sectoral events/job postings. (Posts related to general politics, entertainment, personal daily life, etc., are contrary to platform rules.)
Thematic and Content Scope
- Direct Relevance to the Industry: Content must provide tangible benefits to maritime professionals, such as information, experience, announcements, technical/operational insights, or job/event postings.
- Prohibition of General-Purpose/Non-Industry Content: Political propaganda, daily personal life, entertainment, celebrity news, sports fandom, general memes, and unrelated trending topics cannot be shared.
- Mandatory Connection for Related Topics: Subjects like geopolitics, energy, environment, and technology may only be shared if their impact on maritime is clearly established (e.g., marine fuels, EEXI/CII effects, offshore wind, routing safety, digitalization).
2- Legal Compliance and Responsibility
The user is personally responsible for the content they share in both legal and criminal terms. Content that violates these social media content sharing rules, personal data protection, copyright laws, morality, Turkish Commercial Law, Turkish Penal Law, or any other applicable legislation is strictly prohibited.
Legally Prohibited or Restricted Content (including but not limited to):
- Catalog Crimes: Content involving child abuse, obscenity, prostitution, promotion of drugs, gambling, crimes against Atatürk, etc., as defined under Article 8 of Law No. 5651, is strictly prohibited; the platform will immediately remove such content and may report it to the competent authorities.
- Insult/Threat/Hate Speech: Insults, threats, discrimination/hate speech, humiliation, and targeting individuals or groups are prohibited.
- Copyrights: Works belonging to third parties such as photographs, videos, articles, drawings, maps, plans/projects cannot be shared without the permission of the rights holder; quotation limits and source attribution rules must be observed.
- Personal Data: Personal and especially sensitive data such as name-surname, contact information, facial images, seafarer IDs, health/data cannot be shared without the explicit consent of the relevant individual.
- Commercial Electronic Messages/Spam: Unauthorized mass promotions, campaigns, product/service advertisements, or misleading marketing are prohibited. Sponsorships/advertisements may only be carried out in approved streams determined by the platform and with legal notifications.
3- Rules Regarding Security, Privacy, and Operations Specific to Maritime
- Operational/corporate confidential information such as voyage plans, live vessel positions, cargo manifests, customer/contract terms, accident/incident images, internal company correspondence, and security details under ISPS cannot be shared. Industry guidelines emphasize that sharing accident/incident details may constitute adverse evidence in legal proceedings.
- Facility and Equipment Photos: Images of ports, shipyards, or inside vessels cannot be shared without the permission of the relevant employer/operator and must not disclose personal data.
- Safety and Environment: Posts or encouragements that undermine safety culture, promote practices contrary to instructions, or endanger the environment are prohibited (e.g., content normalizing MARPOL violations). (Regulatory reference: general framework of environmental/maritime legislation; the platform enforces this restriction as part of sectoral ethics.)
4- Rules Regarding Accuracy, Transparency, and Ethics
- Accuracy and Source Attribution: Posts containing technical/professional information must be verifiable; sources must be cited. If false or misleading information is detected, the platform may request corrections or remove the post.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Paid collaborations, sponsorships, and personal commercial interests must be clearly stated.
- Respectful Language: Profanity, slang, derogatory insinuations, trolling behavior, provocation, and targeting are not tolerated.
5- Rules Regarding Format and Technical Limitations
- Visual/Digital Content: Images where faces/identities are clearly visible must be properly anonymized; permission must be obtained for copyrighted logos, drawings, and plans belonging to third parties.
- Multiple Sharing and Flood/Spam: Repeated sharing of the same content, floods that disrupt others’ visibility, and link spamming are prohibited.
B) Moderation, Reporting, and Appeal Process
- Community Reporting: Users can report content that violates the rules to the administration via the in-platform “Report” function.
- Review and Action: The platform promptly reviews the report; if deemed necessary, it removes the post, limits its visibility, or warns/suspends/terminates the account.
- Implementation of Legal Requests: Requests for content removal and/or access restriction based on court or administrative authority decisions are implemented in compliance with legislation.
- Appeal: A user whose content has been removed may submit a reasoned objection through the platform’s appeal channel. The platform will re-evaluate the request and provide a written response.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: The platform records moderation decisions and legal requests as required by law and performs necessary reporting.
C) Disclaimer and Authority
- These rules establish the minimum standards to protect the thematic and professional nature of the platform, personal data, and the rights of members receiving services; the platform may apply stricter standards as required by legislation and operational security.
- The platform is not a party to any legal or criminal liability arising from content shared by users. Content owners bear full legal and criminal responsibility for their posts.
- The platform may remove prohibited content that violates the rules stated above, restrict its visibility, warn the member, suspend or terminate membership, and notify the relevant authorities when necessary, without any obligation for prior review.
D) Enforcement and Acceptance
- These rules take effect on the date of publication; the platform may update them whenever deemed necessary. Updates become valid immediately upon publication.
- Every member (individual / corporate) who registers on the platform or shares content is deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these Social Network Content (Post) Sharing Rules together with the (individual / corporate) Membership Agreement.
